25 January 2021
I cant believe that it has been almost four months since I received the dreaded news from the Doctor:
"Your son has High Risk, Stage 4, Neuroblastoma Cancer and it has already metastasized throughout his whole skeleton into his bone marrow! "
Yet - Another one bites the dust!
Bailey's Buddy has completed his fifth round of chemotherapy on Wednesday 13 January 2021.
{Before I elaborate on the "bad, scary and ugly" - have you seen the awesome days he spent with heroes?

These last couple of weeks have been tough, more intense than usual after chemotherapy.
My son’s pain is increasing drastically, especially in his spine and legs, and he started to experience awful headaches. There were days that he was too weak to walk by himself and feeling dizzy frequently.
On some occasions, falling asleep turned into an endless turning and tossing routine as the pain was becoming unbearable and questions like: “Mommy, why doesn’t my pain want to go away” – left my eyes full of tears whilst I would to pray.
Many other days, when I do manage to get his pain under control for a while – or he at least experience some sort of relief, we were blessed with moments where he catches a burst of energy and was able to swim and even ride bicycle for short intervals.
His pain medication was changed AGAIN, this time with a morphine derivative, but to which he had a bad allergic reaction. I am awaiting feedback from the Doctor for treatment going forward.

Doctor prescribed new medication that we will start tomorrow. Should it not make a difference - then he will have to be admitted to hospital under the Doctors direct care for severe pain management]
Even though we are in the midst of this horrific storm – I do find calm in Jesus, our Saviour and know that He is in total control.
Tomorrow is the dawn of the next chapter in this horrid cancer journey. We are starting various tests to see what impact the chemotherapy had on his cancer.
1. 26th and 27 January 2021- Covid tests.
2. Hospital 1: (Admitted)
Friday, 29 January 2021
o Abdominal and Spine MRI Scan
3. Hospital 2 (Daily commute)
3rd and 4th February 2021
o MIBG Scan
4. Hospital 3 (Admitted)
Friday, 5th February 2021
o Biopsies on the Bone Marrow
I will keep you informed and updated as soon as I have all of these results.
Please pray for his safety under anaesthesia on these separate occasions, as well as from Covid.
Thank you for walking this journey with us.
Thank you for all the love, support, care and prayers.
Thank you for the generosity of the donations made.
I really appreciated it with so much grace and gratitude.
We still have a very long, uncertain road ahead of us
I am unable to do this on my own and I am therefore desperately appealing, to anybody who is able to assist in any way, to please help us.
No contribution is too small.
Although I am extremely embarrassed, and know that Covid has impacted so many of our livelihoods, I have no other option but to ask very humbly for financial assistance to help me cover my son’s medical expenses, his specific dietary supplements, daily requirements and to keep a roof over our heads.
The various hospitals where he is receiving treatment, scans and tests, are 50km away from home.
Please help me raise my son with some form of normality during this unknown journey we are going through.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
If you are not in a position to make a donation, please could you share this link about our journey with a friend on Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram and ask them to do the same. Together we are stronger.
